The new album "The Speed Of Light" is delayed a bit due to unavoidable scheduling issues with the mastering studio, but still should be available for sale and streaming in early October.

Track listing (subject to change) is as follows:

The last two tracks were originally on last year's release "Synthetic Heart" but have been completely re-recorded and will be included as CD-only bonus tracks. To mark the release, I plan to do the following:

The first 11 tracks will be available as medium-quality mp3 (96k) FREE downloads at SoundClick.com. I want to get these tracks into as many peoples' hands as possible so the word can spread!

At the next level, high quality (200k VBR mp3s) will be available for purchase at 99 cents per track at the usual retail online sites like iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, and eMusic, as well as at CDBaby. The entire album (without the bonus tracks) will be available for download for $9.99.

At the highest level of sound quality, the physical CD complete with liner notes and lyrics will be available for purchase through CD Baby. The CD will be mastered by Simon Heyworth of Super Audio Mastering who has mastered projects for many famous synthpop bands including Human League, Simple Minds, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Heaven 17 and my all-time synth heroes, Orchestral Manouvres In The Dark.

As a special CD promotional deal, the first 50 purchasers of the CD through CD Baby will get a free X-Sonic logo t-shirt in your choice of size. The first 5 customers will also get a FREE brand-new iPod shuffle as well as the t-shirt!

Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is getting their summer off to a great start. Things have progressed much more quickly than I anticipated, so it's looking like I might have the new album ready for preview on this site as well as for purchase in CD and downloadable formats by sometime around Labor Day. I am now in the post-recording stages doing the final tweaking on mixes before sending them to the mastering studio, hopefully sometime in July.

I plan to have some pretty cool free giveaway stuff for those who purchase the CD, available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so check back here often for the release date and more details later this summer on the free goodies!
